University of Delaware campus – some pictures
The University of Delaware counts 20000 students, all on 1 campus. To compare, the University of Leuven has 53000, but all spreaded over different campuses and spread over the cities of Leuven and Heverlee. Here, campus is like a little town on its own. It has a Main Street with shops, stores and – mostly – (fastfood) restaurants. Despite this, it’s amazing how skinny and athletic most students are here, mostly because they are involved in a sports program. The damage happens at an older age, when people eat the same food, but stop doing sports.
Today we visited the arena of the Blue Hens, the team of UD. The facilities are amazing! The hall way with the locker rooms, the gym, the strength & conditioning room, … Strength and conditioning coach Trevor Williams explained us the program for the men’s and women’s basketball team.
Tomorrow is quite an exciting day, as we will be heading to our host College for the next 4 weeks.
